The science of learning defines requirements for an optimal education as: blended, distributed, adapted to language and culture, a curriculum deconstructed into teachable components, an entry assessment, remedial pathways, appropriate multimedia, repeated formative assessments, seamless interface with other educational events, finally summative assessments. Small Personalized Online Courses (SPOC) are now fully encrypted, adaptable to the platforms size, include (a)synchronous 2-directional interfaces (messaging, picts or video) as 1-1, 1-many and have a build-in administration dashboard. Knowledge and skills progress can hereby be monitored in parallel. We extend the SPOC educational pathway beyond the one-time summative assessment. Excellence in medical care is not defined by having the patient survive the therapeutic progress, but by proof of stability of the medical success over time in relation to the environment and the circumstances. Excellence in education is redefined through repetitive data about the stability and the implementation of the knowledge, long after the summative assessment. A semi-automated follow-up system is appended to a SPOC. Self-defined questions evaluate at self-defined intervals the conditions and circumstances but also the performance of the educational path. Decision trees optimise the interface between the scholar and his follow-up system.
