MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) offer health professions educators an opportunity to reach large numbers of learners. Building on Dr. Lucey’s keynote, this session provides an opportunity to discuss considerations important for institutions and educators considering offering a MOOC. Dr. Jeffries, Vice Provost for Digital Initiatives at Johns Hopkins University, moderates this session that includes Johns Hopkins MOOC administrators and faculty. They will explore questions related to institutional strategy, selecting MOOC topics, logistical challenges for MOOC faculty to consider, and challenges and opportunities specific to the health professions.
