Automating Data Transfer to an ePortfolio: Lowering the Physician Documentation Burden and Enhancing the User Experience

Objectives: After this session, participants will be able to: -Describe automated transfer of course, event, and activity data and information into a physician’s personal ePortfolio. -Describe automated data transfer into ePortfolio to enhance the activity reporting experience. -Explain how QR codes can be used to assist physicians in the capture of meeting information in the ePortfolio. Presentation: Presenters will describe the means of updating the physician’s ePortfolio with activity, course and event data. This includes the automated transfer of information from third party organizations via API transfer calls, upload of course attendance rosters, and utilization of QR codes for immediate capture of activity information in the physician’s MAINPORT ePortfolio. The utilization of the Medbiquitous Activity Report Standard as a basis of documentation will be discussed as a means of providing consistency in the data and allowing for increased accountability in documenting certification activities. In addition, the benefits of multiple methods of course data capture and the utilization of the various techniques will be covered. At the end of the session, there will be an opportunity for Q&A.
