Terri shared the following note, which I've linked from the online agenda. I have not received any additional feedback, but just presented in a session with Terrence Ma at Einstein who demonstrated how he is documenting clerkships with multiple sites, which is that data from all sites is collected and reported at the local level, but a 'model' that represents all of the sites is uploaded to the CI. I believe that this is the most common method for uploading multiple sites. That being said, we are finding that we are able to find schools with multiple clerkship sites in the data and will be able to either choose one that is at a certain place in the range (e.g., low, median, or high) to report, so we can work with whatever schools upload. I can also report that I have done four presentations on the CI in the past week, and there is much interest in the concept of developing an API that would share data between the CI and assessment software. At the very least, schools would like to avoid re-keying their Program Expectations in one or the other systems, but some of the concepts they have brought up are: 1) linking assessment items to events in the CI as a means of showing where content assessed is covered in the curriculum 2) linking assessment items to events in the CI as a means of linking keywords used to document content in curriculum management systems to ensure that keywording in assessment system matches curriculum documentation 3) linking assessment items to Program Expectations, and then using the PE to PCRS mapping in the CI to show where PCRS competencies are assessed with specific items 4) Course Reviews -- being able to produce course reviews in local curriculum management systems that include assessment items 5) Assessment Reports -- being able to produce reports for students that show performance on assessment items and where the content was taught in the curriculum 6) Content Report -- Running report of assessment items by keyword used in curriculum documentation; e.g., building off of some of the detailed mapping in the curriculum management system that might not exist in assessment system -- e.g., using mapping of assessment items to event, can run a report showing how assessment items map to USMLE content outline. I have several meetings with existing and potential schools today, and will continue to try to get specific ideas of how this would be helpful to them. The concept actually got applause in one session! According to our ANSI-accredited process, MedBiquitous member organizations may propose new standards development projects. We're looking for member organizations that would be interested in working on a proposal together. We would circulate the proposal via email to this group for comment prior to submitting to the MedBiquitous Executive Committee for approval. If you are from a MedBiquitous member organization and would like to participate as a sponsor of the proposal, please let me know. To give you an idea of what a proposal looks like, see the charter for this group (http://medbiq.org/sites/default/files/files/Curriculum_inventory_charter.pdf). Being a sponsor requires no financial commitment, just a commitment of some time to help draft the proposal and respond to feedback form the Executive Committee. We ask for sponsors so that we can assure that the work MedBiquitous is doing is closely aligned with the needs of its members. Having multiple sponsors is perfectly fine. Of course if you have further questions, please let me know.
